Why I Became a Boudoir Photographer
My first encounter with boudoir photography was well before I left the fashion industry
to pursue my dream of becoming a photographer myself. I was 31 and engaged to be married. I
booked a bridal boudoir session because I wanted to give my husband a romantic photo album as a
wedding gift that he’d never forget. While a little nervous, I expected the experience to be fun – and it
was! – but there was much more to it than that. It gave me an overwhelming and unexplainable sense of
confidence, empowerment, and appreciation for my body and my life, however perfectly imperfect they
were.
Little did I know at the time, that pre-wedding boudoir photography session turned out to have a
powerful impact on me – so much that it has changed the trajectory of my career. I thought, if I could
use my talent and creativity to help other women feel as incredible as I did, I’d do everything to make it
happen.
After dabbling in the craft for a few years, here I am: A dedicated Boston Massachusetts area boudoir photographer on
a mission to uplift and empower local women to show them just how beautiful they are.

The life-changing aftereffects of a boudoir photography session
The funny thing about boudoir photography is that you might book a session for one reason, such as a
gift for yourself or a partner, but you wind up getting an unintended yet welcome surprise after the
session is over. It simply feels good…great, even exhilarating! This life-altering aftereffect didn’t just
happen for me – it happens to everyone.

As I reflect on my first boudoir photography experience, I realized something quite profound. I intended
to give an unforgettable gift to my husband – which I certainly did! – but it turns out that the greatest
gift was actually for me.

Uncovering the true meaning of beauty
As a woman in her 40s, a wife, and mom of two, I believe that it’s time for women to feel seen and
valued for their authentic beauty, not someone else’s ideal. As I’ve discovered, there’s not just one way
to be beautiful – there’s at least a billion more! And so, I became a boudoir photographer to help
women embrace their unique and genuine beauty from the inside out, no matter their age, weight,
physique, or any other physical trait. Feeling and looking good in your own skin – now, that’s the true
meaning of beauty in my book.
